Le général de brigade sénégalais Mactar Diop a été nommé chef de la Force en attente de la Cédéao (FAC) et a pris fonctions lors d’une cérémonie, vendredi, à Abuja, la capitale fédérale du Nigeria, a appris l’APS de la Direction de l’information et des relations publiques des armées (DIRPA) du Sénégal.
‘’Un officier général sénégalais [nommé] nouveau chef d’état-major de la Force en attente de la Cédéao. Ce [18 mars 2022], à Abuja, au cours d’une cérémonie sobre mais solennelle, le général de division nigérian Usman Abdulmumuni Yusuf a passé le flambeau au général de brigade Mactar Diop’’, annonce la DIRPA sur son compte Twitter.
L’officier militaire sénégalais, selon l’Aps, est l’ex-chef de cette direction chargée de l’information au sein des armées de son pays, qu’il a quittée depuis sa nomination au grade de général de brigade en janvier 2021.
La Force en attente de la Cédéao est une force multidisciplinaire composée de militaires, de policiers et de civils issus des Etats membres de ladite organisation.
La FAC met à la disposition de l’institution d’intégration régionale du personnel, pour les missions et opérations de soutien à la paix en Afrique de l’Ouest et dans le reste du continent.
