C’est dans une atmosphère détendue que le médiateur de la Cedeao, Goodluck Jonathan, a été reçu, ce vendredi après-midi, par le président de la transition malienne, le colonel Assimi Goïta. Pour ce deuxième déplacement de la mission de médiation de la Cedeao en moins d’un mois (Goodluck Jonathan et sa délégation avaient été reçus le 24 février dernier) depuis l’embargo, l’objectif est la recherche d’une résolution rapide à la crise politico-économique entre le Mali et l’organisation sous-régionale.
Sous embargo économique de la Cedeao depuis le 9 janvier 2022, le Mali est à bout de souffle, mais sa situation n’épargne pas les économies de la sous-région, notamment celles des partenaires privilégiés comme le Sénégal. Rien qu’au mois de janvier 2022, le Sénégal a enregistré 24 milliards de pertes dues à la chute vertigineuse des échanges avec le Mali.
Engagé dans la recherche d’une solution rapide qui aurait comme effet la levée des sanctions contre le Mali, le président Macky Sall a eu, ce jeudi, un entretien téléphonique avec le chef de la junte au pouvoir, le colonel Assimi Goïta.
