Au Togo, l’Assemblée nationale a procédé ce jeudi soir à Lomé à l’élection des nouveaux membres devant siéger à la Commission électorale en vue des élections régionales à venir.
Au total, 17 membres ont été élus par les députés à l’occasion de la cinquième séance plénière de la première session ordinaire de l’année. L’élection s’est déroulée conformément aux dispositions des articles 12 de la loi portant code électoral, 31 et 67 du règlement intérieur de l’Assemblée nationale.
Ainsi, ont été élus sept (07) membres représentant la majorité parlementaire Parti UNIR au pouvoir, sept (07) membres représentant l’opposition dont quatre (4) membres représentant l’opposition parlementaire et trois (3) membres représentant l’opposition extraparlementaire, deux (2) membres représentant la société civile et un (1) membre représentant l’administration, rapporte l’agence Xinhua. Conformément à la constitution togolaise, les nouveaux membres doivent prêter serment avant leur entrée en fonction.
Cette élection ouvre la voie aux préparatifs des élections régionales prévues cette année. Ces élections viendront compléter les élections municipales tenues il y a environ trois ans, dans la poursuite du processus de décentralisation en cours au Togo.
