Après la pluie vient le beau temps ? C’est en tout cas ce qu’espèrent les artistes africains après ces deux années durement marquées par le Covid. Deux longues années durant lesquelles de nombreux musiciens, chanteurs, rappeurs, n’ont pas pu monter sur scène ou sortir de nouveaux albums. Après avoir dû s’adapter aux restrictions imposées par la crise sanitaire mondiale, c’est l’heure pour de nombreux artistes de reprendre leurs activités habituelles.
Ça fait bien longtemps que des notes de musique n’ont pas raisonné dans une salle de concerts. La faute au Covid. Face aux festivals annulés et aux tournées reportées, les artistes ont dû se réinventer.
C’est ce qu’a fait Didier Awadi, musicien et rappeur sénégalais. Il a dû trouver des moyens détournés pour exercer son art dans des conditions inédites : « On a créé pour notre part une émission télé, où on jouait de la musique, on créait, mais ce n’est pas facile parce qu’il y a eu beaucoup de dates qu’on a perdues, un peu partout des tournées, on n’a pas gagné autant, mais on a pris du plaisir. »
Mais l’épidémie recule et l’activité artistique reprend peu à peu. Didier Awadi revient avec un nouvel album prochainement : « Là, on espère que les affaires vont reprendre, que les tournées justement avec un nouvel album, ça va ouvrir des portes et en tout cas on espère que le nouvel album sera disponible d’ici le mois de mai, on y travaille ! C’était tellement dur qu’on a même eu le syndrome de la feuille blanche, c’était compliqué… Aujourd’hui, l’inspiration est revenue et c’est tout ça qui va se retrouver, en tout cas personnellement, dans mon prochain album. »
Pour se consacrer pleinement à la sortie de son album, Didier Awadi ne retrouvera son public en concert qu’en automne.
