Sucre, farine, riz, huile, gaz ou ciment : ces produits, majoritairement importés, devraient donc désormais être vendus moins cher que ce qu’ils ne le sont aujourd’hui. Une procédure spéciale, permise par la loi 2018-20 régissant la concurrence, qui autorise le gouvernement à intervenir sur les prix en cas de difficultés durables d’approvisionnement du marché. La mesure, prise en concertation avec les acteurs du commerce, devrait se ressentir sur le pouvoir d’achat des ménages.
Dans les allées du marché d’Analakely, les clients se font rares. Et quand ils s’arrêtent devant les étals, les habituelles négociations tournent court… tant les prix ont augmenté comme l’huile que vend Sarah Lantoniaina, détaillante de produits de première nécessité, passée de 8000 à 10 000 ariary.
Pour Sarah, qui est aussi la présidente des pavillons d’Analakely, la fixation des prix annoncée ce mardi par le ministère de l’Industrie, du Commerce et de la Consommation, est peut-être la solution pour relancer la fréquentation du marché.
« Depuis deux mois, les prix ont commencé à augmenter petit à petit. Cette huile malgache, elle a pris 25% depuis février. La limitation du prix des denrées peut vraiment faire tout changer. A condition par contre, que tout le monde joue le jeu. Parce que si par exemple, les grossistes continuent de vendre cher et que nous, détaillants, on nous force à baisser les prix, alors moi, je prendrai la décision de retirer ces produits de la vente plutôt que de les vendre à perte. »
