La diffusion d’une vidéo, dans laquelle on voyait le vainqueur du concours imiter la prise de cocaïne en direct pendant la compétition musicale, avait déclenché une vive polémique.
Le chanteur du groupe italien Måneskin, qui a remporté l’Eurovision 2021, ne s’est pas drogué, a assuré l’organisateur du concours, lundi 24 mai, indiquant que le test de dépistage s’était avéré négatif.
« Aucune consommation de drogue n’a eu lieu (…) et nous considérons que l’affaire est close », a indiqué l’Union Européenne de Radio-Télévision (UER) dans un communiqué, après un début de polémique. Le chanteur italien Damiano David a accepté de se soumettre à un test de dépistage de drogue après la diffusion d’une vidéo dans laquelle on le voit s’abaisser et toucher une table avec son nez, en pleine compétition samedi à Rotterdam, une posture assimilée par certains à une prise de cocaïne. Ces images ont été vues en direct à travers le monde.
L’UER a indiqué que le résultat du test, qui a été effectué « plus tôt dans la journée » de lundi, s’est avéré être « négatif ». En outre, l’organisation basée à Genève a procédé, à la demande de la délégation italienne, « à un examen approfondi des faits, notamment en vérifiant toutes les séquences vidéo disponibles ».
« Nous sommes alarmés par le fait que des spéculations inexactes conduisant à des ‘fake news’ ont assombri l’esprit et le résultat de l’événement et ont injustement affecté le groupe de musique », a par ailleurs souligné l’UER. « Nous souhaitons féliciter Måneskin une fois de plus et leur souhaiter un grand succès. Nous nous réjouissons de travailler avec notre membre italien Rai pour produire un Concours Eurovision spectaculaire en Italie l’année prochaine », a ajouté le communiqué.
