L’Arabie Saoudite va autoriser 60 000 de ses résidents vaccinés contre le coronavirus à effectuer le hajj, grand pèlerinage musulman à La Mecque qui doit avoir lieu le mois prochain, a annoncé samedi 12 juin le ministère du Hajj.
L’Arabie saoudite a annoncé samedi que l’accomplissement du Hajj pour cette année sera limité à 60 000 pèlerins de l’intérieur du Royaume, en raison des « mutations » du coronavirus dans le monde.
Selon un communiqué du ministère saoudien du Hajj et de la Omra, « il a été décidé de limiter la disponibilité de l’inscription pour ceux qui souhaitent accomplir le Hajj, pour l’année 1442 (selon le calendrier musulman de l’Hégire), aux citoyens et résidents du Royaume uniquement, avec un total de 60 000 pèlerins.
Le communiqué ajoute que la décision intervient « à la lumière de l’évolution continue de la pandémie du coronavirus dans le monde et de l’émergence de nouvelles mutations ».
La même source a mis l’accent sur la nécessité d’un état de santé impeccable pour ceux qui souhaitent accomplir le Hajj, qu’ils ne souffrent pas de maladies chroniques et qu’ils fassent partie des tranches d’âge de 18 à 65 ans, qui ont reçu le vaccin anti-Covid.
Il est à noter que l’inscription au pèlerinage doit se faire par le biais du processus électronique réservé aux pèlerins, et qui sera lancé par le ministère du Hajj et de la Omra, afin d’assurer le sûreté, la sécurité et le bon fonctionnement du rituel.
Le ministère saoudien a également souligné, « le souci du Royaume d’assurer toutes les précautions et mesures sanitaires pour garantir le bon déroulement du pèlerinage ».
L’Arabie saoudite a récemment connu une hausse remarquable du taux d’infections par le coronavirus, avec plus de 463 703 cas, dont 7 537 décès et 446 054 rémissions.
A rappeler que la saison du Hajj pour l’année 2020 était exceptionnelle, à la suite du déclenchement de la pandémie du coronavirus, étant donné que le nombre de pèlerins à cette époque était limité à environ 10 000 uniquement, du Royaume, contre environ 2,5 millions de pèlerins, en 2019, en provenance des différentes régions du monde.
