Le Sahara est le lieu, actuellement, d’un important flux de migration de populations d’Afrique noire vers le Maghreb et pour certains d’entre eux vers l’Europe. Les services de sécurité de Laâyoune ont mené, ces derniers jours, plusieurs opérations de sauvetage de candidats à l’émigration irrégulière originaires d’Afrique subsaharienne.
La première opération de secours des services de sécurité de Laâyoune a concerné 75 Subsahariens dont l’embarcation était à la dérive, alors que la deuxième a permis de sauver la vie de 54 candidats à l’émigration clandestine. Les différents services de sécurité ont également mis en échec deux tentatives d’émigration irrégulière qui ont eu lieu respectivement à 36 km de Boujdour et dans la localité d’Amgriou (province de Tarfaya).
Dans la ville de Laâyoune aussi, 79 individus originaires d’Afrique subsaharienne, qui s’apprêtaient à prendre le large vers les îles Canaries, ont été interpellés. Ces opérations s’inscrivent dans le cadre des efforts soutenus menés par la gendarmerie marocaine, la Marine royale, la délégation des pêches maritimes et les autorités locales pour lutter contre l’émigration clandestine et le trafic d’êtres humains.
À rappeler que les garde-côtes de la Marine royale marocaine, opérant en Méditerranée, avaient également porté secours, durant la période du 20 au 23 juillet, à 368 candidats à la migration clandestine à majorité des Subsahariens. Les migrants secourus, dont 7 femmes et 3 enfants, se trouvaient en difficulté à bord de 22 embarcations pneumatiques, 30 kayaks et 5 chambres à air.
