Tel-Aviv accueillera, dimanche et lundi, une réunion des pays signataires des Accords d’Abraham et les Etats-Unis, annonce ce vendredi le ministère israélien des Affaires étrangères, dans un communiqué. L’événement verra la présence des chefs des diplomaties des Emirats arabes unies, du Bahreïn, du Maroc, d’Israël et des Etats-Unis, rapporte The Times of Israel.
«Une annonce qui a surpris certains analystes», indique la même source. La rencontre intervient alors que le secrétaire d’Etat Antony Blinken est attendu, dimanche à Jérusalem et à Ramallah.
Sauf surprise, ce rendez-vous sera l’occasion pour Nasser Bourita d’effectuer son premier voyage officiel en Israël. Son homologue Yaïr Lapid l’a déjà invité à se rendre à Tel-Aviv.
Pour rappel, Washington avait organisé, le 17 septembre 2021 une réunion virtuelle pour célébrer le premier anniversaire des Accords d’Abraham. Un cadre qui peine à pendre son envol. D’ailleurs, des ministres israéliens ne se privent plus de critiquer ouvertement le peu d’enthousiasme de l’administration Biden à remplir ses engagements.
«Au début, les Américains étaient hésitants, ils ne savaient pas trop comment approcher la question. Aujourd’hui, le plus important est de convaincre d’autres pays d’intégrer les Accords d’Abraham, et de transformer ces accords en succès incontestables», avait souligné Yaïr Lapid en février dernier.
