La société ghanéenne de services financiers, Zeepay, a annoncé mercredi 30 juin avoir levé 7,9 millions USD au terme d’un financement de série A mené par I&P, un groupe d’investissement d’impact, et GOODsoil VC, une société de capital-risque, entre autres. Ce financement hybride vise essentiellement à soutenir les opérations de la société en Afrique et aux Caraïbes.
« Nous avons un certain nombre d’acquisitions stratégiques en vue et prévoyons de conclure avant la fin de l’année. Notre stratégie reste d’orienter nos envois de fonds vers les actifs numériques à travers l’Afrique et les Caraïbes et nous sommes enthousiasmés par le taux d’expansion », a déclaré le président de Zeepay, M. Yankey.
Pour sa part, Andrew Takyi-Appiah, directeur général et fondateur de Zeepay a déclaré : « notre augmentation de 7,9 millions de dollars US dans la série A.0 donne à Zeepay une solide table de capital, avant de clôturer notre série A.5 dans les mois à venir ».
Présente dans 20 pays africains, la société basée à Accra a réalisé de bonnes performances au cours des 5 dernières années. Si l’on se fie aux statistiques, Zeepay a réalisé un taux de croissance moyen cumulé d’environ 146% entre 2016 et 2021.
